Sunshine and Auctioneers in Orlando
The National Auctioneers Conference is going on in Orlando, Fla., this week. It is a chance for auctioneers to meet and learn from their peers and to find out what is new in the auctioneering industry.

I’m sitting in the AntiqueWeek booth as I type this Blog. Many of our advertisers have come by to say hello including Jack Christy, Dennis Jackson and Dennis Kruse, who is spending his last hours as president of the NAA.

Last night during the NAA’s fun auction, Kruse bought a complete set of The Auctioneer Magazine from 1972. Everyone at our dinner table looked through the magazines. It was interesting as there was an ad for the Tri State Trader, which was of course, the name of AntiqueWeek early in the newspaper’s history.

What are your thoughts about the auction industry? If you could ask an auctioneer one question, what would it be?

Steve Proffitt, our always well-read, but sometimes controversial columnist just stopped by to say hello and he says hello to all of our readers also.
