Phones were once only for making a call |

Once upon a time, telephones had dials. And operators. And cords.
They didn’t take pictures. They didn’t send text messages. They didn’t provide apps for our internet-ready fingertips.
For most of the 20th century, telephones were just for making or receiving calls. Where you made or received those calls was dependent on where in the house your phone jack was located. |
