MT. CRAWFORD, Va. — A 50-year collection of American folk and decorative art from the collection of the late Joan M. Wentz of Germansville, Pa., will cross the auction block on Aug. 24-25 at Jeffrey S. Evans & Associates. The Friday session containing the Wentz estate will include weather vanes, portraits and rare toleware as well as holiday items. Glassware will also be a highlight of this offering. Saturday’s session should prove to be equally exciting featuring property from several prominent consignors as well as property deaccessioned by Washington & Lee University, Lexington, Va., to benefit the Collections Fund. Also included will be property deaccessioned from the Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center, Pennsburg, Pa., whose proceeds will benefit the Acquisitions Fund. The complete catalog for both days will be posted by Aug. 15 on the firm’s website, and will be available for absentee and live bidding through the new Jeffrey S. Evans LIVE platform, as well as Live Auctioneers and Invaluable. All lots are on public preview at the firm’s gallery. For additional information call 540-434-3939 or visit www.jeffreysevans.com. |
